Methoxy propanol, also commonly known as propylene glycol monomethyl ether is a colorless solvent that is commonly used in printing and writing inks and in paints and coatings. Manufacturing process:
The most common way of manufacturing methoxy propanol is using methanol and 1.2-methoxy propane using a catalyst. The products are then subjected to distillation, after which we receive methoxy propanol.
Methoxy propanol is primarily used in the manufacture of propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate.
It is used in printing and writing inks.
